The idea for this band is by Todor "Zlia Basist" Stoychev. The idea was born in 2000. The main theme in the Martva Zona’s music is that the text are with social orientation. The texts are in Bulgarian. The real Martva Zona starts in 2003. Before this there is another line up, which is actualy the first line up of Martva Zona (it was in 2002, but this line up was only for a few weeks). In 2003 Martva Zona are: Todor "Zlia Basist" Stoychev - guitars & vocals, Desislav "Schuldiner" Stoychev (Todor’s little brother, 14 y.o. at this time)-bass, Pavlin "Jolly Roger" Peychev - drums(the nickname of this person comes from his favorite song "Under Jolly Roger" by Running Wild). With this line up the band has only one live performance on 29.12.2003, with the Shumen bands Abbadon(death metal), A.T.F.(alternative rock) and Spunka(punk). The show was very good. Three years after this the people still talk about it. In january 2004 the band stops playing. The reason is there is no pleace where to play!
In the summer of 2005 Todor starts the records of the song "Obrecheni"(Cursed in English). This was one of the first Martva Zona’s songs and Todor recorded it by himself in his home. The drums of this song are made with computer software.
From 2003 till 2006 Desislav starts to learn the basic guitar technics and shows really good playing. In the end of 2005 Desislav joins the death metal project Infynitum as a guitar player. In April 2006 after some conflicts in Infynitum Desislav decided to join again the old Martva Zona. This time the line up is: Todor "Zlia Basist" Stoychev - bass & vocal, Desislav "Schuldiner" Stoychev - guitars, Pavlin "Jolly Roger" Peychev - drums. From april till june 2006 the band makes 2 new songs and release one live performance. After a conflict between Todor and Pavlin, Pavlin is replaced by a new drumer - Marin "Murphy" Aleksandrov. Murphy was a boy that plays like a drumer from time to time with some of the bands in Shumen. When he started playing with Martva Zona he was with 5-6 months practice on the drums, but plays very good.
In september 2006 Todor and Desislav start the records of "Edin den..."(One day... in English). The drums of this song are too made with a software program.
After several shows in Shumen the band gained a solid group of fans in the town.
The band is planning to record a demo album in the summer of 2007. It will be named "Grobishte za dushi" (Graveyard for souls in English).
On june 26th 2007 the band finished the records of the demo EP called Grobishte za dushi (Graveyard for souls). Before this on april 18th the drummer Marin Aleksandrov "Murphy" left the band. He left by his own decision and joined the Shumen band Invain. The band starts to look for a drummer. The potential drummer now is Kamen "Kambura" Andonow from the Shumen thrash metal legends Immortal Discordia. But it turns out that the band has no drummer again. Software drums act as the solution once again. The band finds a new place to practice and a new guitarrist (Daniel Petkov). The team works out and eventually start playing at shows more often. And till this day the band still has no drummer.
