The Sound Beach Song Bird!

About Me

I'm just a country girl I guess. Most times The world seems to be going too fast for me. Old time remedies, TLC and lots of hugs. I am a massage and bodywork practitioner by day-with my specialty in accupressure and compassion for the stressful souls that come my way for healing and restoration.I love a fire in the fireplace on the patio....music...picking with my Buddy...the ancient tones... with an audience of racoons & possums & crickets chirping under the stars...the owls calling high in the treetops, "whoooo, who's that singing?" The extrovert in me loves to step up to the mike with the greatest bluegrass band I know backing me up on a number. The audience, the lights, and there's me & my guitar...

My Interests

My Little Grandbaby Madison. She is sooooo cute, see her on my pics. Bluegrass Music I play guitar and sing with Buddy Merriam & Back Roads organic gardening, vegetarian cooking, birds and walking on the beach or hiking a mountain trail, sitting by a stream, feeding the chickens. Brownies fresh out of the oven. The fresh smell of a farm and a horse barn & the smell of the hay. Balsam branches burning on the fire. A balsam forest after the rain. a bit sappy, but that's just me...a smile, a laugh make my day.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to sit down and talk with Hazel Dickens, harmonize on a few tunes with her.CURRENT MOON about the moon

Music:

Bird songs.....right up in the trees! Bluegrass, big band swing, nothing like an old standard, Hank Williams song, Bill MOnore singing tenor/taking a break, Hazel Dickens/singing with Alice Gerrard, hauntingly awesome harmonies, spunky Jimmy Martin, George Gershwin on the keys, Louie Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald in beautiful harmony! Old school....that's me.

Movies:

Bluegrass Journey (the documentary), Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, Song Catcher, Sense & Sensability, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Seven Years in Tibet, Chocolat, Amalie', Pirates of the Carribean(not the newest one!)

Television:

What happened to good old time TV? Back in the old days, I loved watching the old Opry, Reno & Smiley, Everly Brothers, Ed Sullivan Show, Green Acres-there was always a laugh. It was all about putting a smile on your face. Now, we have reality tv-it doesn't do much for me. Shows about the nature and travel interest me.

Books:

I prefer magazines articles...I have a short attention span! Bob Black's, "Come Hither to Go Yonder" stories about his life with Bill Monroe.

Heroes:

.........can live without the big names...it's people who take their circumstances and make the break from expectation and do something really great. People who make a difference in being respectful to our natural resources, just little things every day...adds up to make a difference. You've heard of good people doing great things...that's my hero
