SIR. STY.LIST IS WHAT YOU CALL ME

THEY TOLD ME I COULDNT DO IT LIKE I HAVENT DONE IT ALREADY.

About Me

Born in 1975 in Barbados in the Parish of St Micheal, Stylist moved to Philadelphia with his mother and father at the age of 8. By the age of 12, he knew he wanted to be an entertainer. Watching Rap City on BET in 1987 with a friend from the neighborhood, they imitated old rappers and battled other kids in the school bathrooms of Abraham Lincoln High School. He then knew he could not be beaten. Many started to hear about his expertise, and a few more friends sought him out to create a group called the Young Assassins, 3 boys between ages 15 and 16. Stylist was the oldest. With little money and no experience in the industry, they found a small Philadelphia studio and recorded two singles "Mad Styles" and "Party Crashers". That demo tape created a rush of enthusiasm for the Young Assassins, providing them with an opportunity to perform almost every Friday night at local talent shows and other weekend Philadelphia events. But Stylist wanted to be more than just an artist, and the young age of 16, the groups’ time in the studio gave him the chance to learn the more technical side of the business. He thought constantly of ways to better manage the group, trying to find a good manager to ensure the group would not have to come out of their pocket to perform at their weekend events. Changes in the Young Assassins style, made Stylist think harder about staying on. And when the group changed its name to "Relentless", he decided after their last performance in the winter of 1988, to leave the group and work on his own, with a more versatile side. After leaving, Relentless never performed as a group again. Stylist began to perform on his own, and his interests in the management side of the business lead him to seek out representation. He created the state name "Sty.list" for himself and transitioned his music style from Hip Hop to Reggae. This change benefited him greatly and enabled him to be the opening act for Beanie Man,Bujubanton, Shabba Ranks, Patra, Little Vicious, Round Head and other artist who came to Philadelphia. In one year, Stylist had performed as the opening act for six shows, in a six month period of time. Performances at 3am encouraged him to work on his stage presence, knowing that at any time, a good stage presence would make you unforgettable as an opening act. Those ambitions lead him to over 200 performances in the East Cost venues big and small. But exhausting every effort for success in Philly, Sty.list takes a chance with modeling, taking a break from music to work on other aspects in the industry. Now holding a resume as a model, actor, and artist Stylist prepares himself for up and coming projects.Get Your Own! | View Slideshow.. width="425" height="350" .... width="425" height="350" ..
