Family is very important to me, and my Grandmother through her selfless acts towards humanity is what drew me towards the medical field. She helped make me the Man I AM today. RIP Grandma
I spent a year recently living in the economically impoverished area of South West Philadelphia trying to make a difference in the neighborhood.
I'm not one to hate or discriminate and I enjoy seeing people be happy.
I've learned in life it's important to take a step back to keep taking more steps forward.
I graduated in the top 3% of my class from Johns Hopkins University, Phi Beta Kapa, with a 3.82 GPA, and got a full scholarship to the MD PhD program at Thomas Jefferson University.
At Jefferson I was one of four students in the Country to be awarded a NIH Grant to do research for Spinal Cord Injury Patients. I don't view people as patients, but as friends, and they teach me the importance of never giving up. This grant awarded Thomas Jefferson University $150,000, but the University broke their promises to me for it, disrupted my education, and closed down the CNS Gene Therapy Center at Jefferson, removing faculty by security.
This is a picture of me with Bishop Smith. I attend the Catholic Church at Saint Isaac Jogues in Marlton, NJ, on occasion though, I visit as well the non-denominational Church of Living Faith in Pennsauken, NJ.
I think the most important lesson I've learned in life that I can share with anyone is to keep your head up and never frown when you are suffering (it's ok to cry, but never frown), because you never know who is falling in love with your smile that will cause your suffering to end.
