About Me

Originally formed in 1999 as a recording project, Kranknine has gelled into one of the tightest and most entertaining bands on the Detroit rock/metal scene.Founding members Tim Heacox and Michael Norkewiecz began with a batch of songs and the dream of recording a killer cd. After a number of member changes, including syn of Zug Island fame, they joined forces with the infamous Mr. Don Smith. Donny has been in a number of excellent Detroit rock bands, including Children of the Revolution, Spyder, and Murder City, which featured current members of Sponge. The band was completed with Dave Seymour on guitar, who provided lead guitar on Kid Rocks remake of A Country Boy Can Survive, and Jason Hartless, ex-drummer of Children, and former winner of a motor city drum competition. After a short time to bond, the band recorded their self-titled debut, with renowned producer Tom Rice. The cd features staples of the bands live set, including the songs Walk Alone, Thrill of It All, and Pull To Gain.As with all bands, growing pains ensued, and in 2003, Kranknine re-tooled with a new rhythm section consisting of Bill Davey, formerly of Concrete Rattle and Sex Kitchen, and Mr. Jake Blaskay, from the band, Kush. This lineup provided the band with a very creative and stable environment.2006 was a year of great turmoil in the band. Jake suffered a grave work injury that kept him out of action for several months, and the rest of the band made a very stupid and ill-conceived decision to carry on without him. Many thanks go out to Mr. Jason Hartless jr. who bailed us out in a time of need and filled the shoes of his father admirably. We are pleased to be doing some shows with Jake in the near future, and who knows what else.KrankNine is here to deliver a Doc Martin to the teeth blast of heaviness, with melody, soul, groove, and feeling. Lock your doors, hide your women and beer, you have been warned.

Sounds Like: Kranknine likes to write songs with big fat grooves and hooks that stay in your head like a bad drunken party guest that refuses to leave. The kind that drinks all your beer and liquor and sends you out for more.On a more serious note, we grew up on classic metal, and honor and respect what has come before, while always continuing to search out new music that catches our ear and kicks our ass.If you took a big greasy black pot and threw in some Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Judas Priest, Black Label Society, and Corrosion of Conformity, we think Kranknine is the ugly little creature that would crawl out.
