I've been producing dance music since 1995 when I started messing around with analogue synths and sequencers with a friend. I'd been Dj'ing for two years before this playing at wharehouse parties and raves at festivals and decided it was time to start writing my own music. About six months after starting to produce tunes with my mate we had quite a good studio together and started playing out live at Universitys and Clubs. We got an album together and with the help of some friends who knew the music business ended up signing a deal for Richard Bransons then new label V2. We got a massive advance and went crazy in the local music shop buying loads of new kit, I couldn't believe it! I felt like a kid in a sweet shop! Anyway we started writing loads of new tunes and sending them off down to the record company, had a single ready to release (or so we thought) but they kept stalling and eventually asked us to become a bit more commercial. We wouldn't play ball so they ended up droping us and writing the money off as a tax loss. So me and my mate went our seperate ways (with some mint bits of kit) and I started my alta ego which is Dub Terrorist. I've been producing Techno on my own now for about six years and I'm in the process of starting my own label called "Inverse Recordings" which I hope to have up and running within the next three months. I'm also about to remix a tune for Dutch Dj/Producers "Devoice" with them doing one of mine in return.
