How nice it is when someone wants to be your friend. When someone has seen some part of you and wants to get to know you better. How lovely when someone feels a connection to you friendship or otherwise. Everybody wants to feel understood and appreciated. That's the myspace trick - they call 'em friends. It probably makes some people feel very proud to have a lot of friends on their page, and rightfully so if they're true friends... but are they really "true" - does it matter? For me, it matters – I don't need 500 people on my friends list in order to feel worthy of myspace. I do this myspace thing because I love my true friends and family and it's a blessing to keep in touch with them all over the world… and because getting a glimpse of their life and ideas and creativity (via their pages) helps me understand, appreciate and respect them more. Likewise, I hope my page helps them understand, appreciate and respect me more.If not…. They really shouldn't be a "friend" on my page. (Oh people, you know who you are, but I love you anyway!)I've been to a lot of pages and read a lot of truly interesting things about people. There are so many people that I would like to make friends with. I don't do friends like candy though – I gotta know for sure how I feel about you before I even open the box. And my friends should do the same, that's not hard though – myspace is my flavor – everything that I am is right there, wide open for the world to see. Hence the headline, the truth shall set us free.As the numbers on my page increase, I hope the people called "my friends" really understand how much I care for them – how much I respect them for their insight and creativity – or at least how far I'm willing to stretch to get to know them better.Family, old friends – I love you!!!
