About Me

Hi to the world, Im Darren, once of Sheffield, England and now living in the sprawling metropolis of London. Having listened to and played loads of music in Sheffield, I am now forging a living playing the pubs and clubs of this fine city as what is lovingly termed 'a pub turn'. Im a massive Beatles fan and still get tingles down my spine when i hear the classics from all those years ago. Having said that I love all styles of music, to rock, swing, country, anything that has a great hook line and is under 4 minutes!! Would find it impossible to live without music its my lifeblood. I love to laugh and make people laugh its a great thing to be happy. I have a philosophy that for the short time we are here we ought to make the most of it and enjoy life. I meet so many good people doing my gigs its a joy to do it and really enforces my faith in human nature. I can honestly say that the only thing that gets me down is Sheffield Wednesday seemingly winning a game and then losing it in the last five minutes, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. PS Wednesday have just beaten Sheffield United 2-0 and it made me the happiest chappy in the world!! Anyway, be lucky.

My Interests

music, singing, i play guitar and sing so im always practising. Im now playing gigs in pubs and clubs which i really enjoy so that takes up a lot of my time. I should also add im a Sheffield Wednesday supporter....I know what you are thinking but anybody can be a Chelsea Man U, etc fan but it takes real guts and courage to be a Wednesdayite!

Shawshank Redemption is my favourite film, its wonderful and anything by python, Life of Brian, holy grail, etc..oh and Monsters Inc and Toy Story 1 and 2!!

Books:

autobiographies mainly music and sport heroes of mine.

Heroes:

Well, my dad of course and John Lennon....oh and all the other beatles really. One of my first memories is my mother buying me a beatle wig, a hard plastic one that i had to melt to get it over my head and me playing the unplugged tennis racket to I Wanna Hold Your Hand, which was the family's only beatles single. I played it until blood oozed out of the Dansette. Im left handed so i was always Paul but i admire them all. Play that song properly now in my set so its come full circle!
