Paul Pearson.
Affectionately known as the Steel Town Troubadour, Paul, from Sheffield, specializes in taking songs from excellent but obscure songwriters and turning them into PP Originals. If the names Ron Trueman-Border, Paul Jones or Tom Pacheco mean anything to you, you'll be aware of the quality of the material. If you've witnessed Paul's natural, controlled aggression and sheer passion, you'll know it's an explosive combination. Not to be missed.
The Abbey Inn Charity Music Festival.Paul ambled up to the mic with a cheery "Ey up!", sat himself down and launched into an explosive version of Springsteen's Youngstown. The savagery of the performance was in total contrast to his amiable stage presence and immediately gripped the audience. In many ways, Springsteen is an anomaly in Paul's set because he specializes in songs by unjustly obscure writers like Tom Pacheco, Ron Truman Border and Paul Jones (The great singer-songwriter from Glasson Dock, as opposed to the Do Wah Diddy man).
With Paul every song is an emotional journey, for both himself and his listener, and what an excellent travel companion he makes. From rollicking chorus songs to heartbreaking ballads, by the end of his set we're on our feet bellowing for more! A wonderful evening.
Wayne StoteUp our way Paul is known as the Steel Town Troubadour. He has a way with a song that few possess. You can literally feel the warmth generated between him and his Audience. He really is a must see. When you add Chris Treebeard's instrumental wizardry and Michele's sublime voice to the mix, it makes for a real heady brew, indeed.

“Mature, emotive, soulful &fresh – an accomplished performanceâ€
Glasson Dock Festival 05.... aptly-chosen support artist for this gig, Sheffield-based Paul Pearson, who regularly features Tom's songs in his act - but not on this occasion, instead choosing a selection straight from the pens of Dave Olney, Bruce Springsteen (a superbly original, gutsy take on Youngstown), Lancaster's Paul Jones and, unusually, himself. The intensity of Paul's delivery belies his self-effacing personality, and Tom's fans came away mightily impressed with his two fine sets.

Another stirring set from Paul Pearson & Chris Treebeard - they never fail to engage.
Paul Pearson and sidekick, Chris Treebeard (stage name, honest - the second one, I mean!) delivered an excellent 30 minute support set in Paul's usual style of total intensity and conviction.

Paul’s rich interpretations of Tom Pacheco and Ron Trueman Border songs; ‘Angel ‘ being particularly memorable
Sheffield's Paul Pearson fronted an intriguing, mellow set of songs in combination with his city compatriots, Chris and Sue: a blend of contemporary folk classics. Listen out for the tear-jerking "Angel", but don't ask questions.
