About Me

The Country Music dream for me started in 2005 when I woke up and got down to write and then publish my first book, "Contemporary Country Music" A Smile, A Thought and A Touch of Inspiration.Just 8000 words written as a series of short radio programme scripts, higlighting artists, tracks and web sites. Many thanks to those who triggered the project, commented and have encouraged me further. My big radio chance came along in the summer of 2006, when I was invited to write, produce and present my own 'live' country music radio show, twice a week on Southport Community Radio, a brand new station and for a total output of 6 hours per week. www.southportradio.com So many thanks are due to Jon Jessop and the SCR team, my guests who came into the studios and to Shelagh my 'live in' executive producer. We titled the show, after advice 'On The Road Again' with the obvious signature tune. The format, a recount of some our road trips in the USA, the fine folks we have met along the way, wonderfull places we found many off the tourist track and then to play some of the music we have collected during the sojourns.Just now writing up the scripts for the third series, on air again and live with guests and yes we have been re-hired to present with an extra evening show in new the 07 schedules. Also now a new Saturday morning country breakfast radio show 'Rodeo Southport' to concive. We have started for real a musicial journey and continue to follow a dream with friends. So many thanks are also due to BBC senior management in Liverpool for trusting and to the team for quality support when we launched at 'the brand new state of the art' BBC studios in The Performance Space on June 4th 'Country Roots 6LV.' A contemporary country music project supporting writer/performers with now High School & University educational elements that show up in the dvd's.
