About Me
A quick bit of blurb about me,embraced the house scence properly in the early nineties.Loved all the early house music in the late 80's around the time I was at college but also liked all the indie stuff like stone roses, happy mondays etc..It wasn't until 1991 that I started going to places like Linford Film Studios and the early Garage Cty parties in Vauxhall that I really got into garage music, strictly rhythm/nervous records probably the biggest influence on me and of course all the dj's like masters at work, tony humphries..Started buying records after a Kiss FM trip to ibiza in 1993,which was one of the defining moments for me.Steve Jackson was playing stuff like Cloud 9 "do you want me baby"on surburban records out of NYC and all the KISS FM jocks like Danny Rampling,Paul Trouble Anderson,Sarah HB were all playing quality music back in the day.As the club scene grew in London I starting going to Ministry of Sounds in London, which was another great influence for me,little louie vega spinning 8 hours on one of the best sound systems in the world-thats house!I heard Kerri Chandler playing at a warehouse party in Ladbroke Grove with Sarah HB &always remember him playing 2 copies of the barbara tucker "duckbeats",pure underground house music didnt get any better! When The End opened its doors in late 1995 this opened up another chapter in London clubland,a great space and cutting edge electronic music, lost count of the great nights I've had in there, the deep dish "all night long@monthly wednesday nights were unbelievable, prana "the dream"being a standout record that to this day has still stood the test of time !I would love to hear sharam&dubfire play like that again.... Also have to give special mention to classic records for the parties theyve held in there over the years, derrick carter another dj who is up there with the best.First heard him at space at bar rumba on a wednesday night, totally blew me away! Dj Heather,Honey Dijon,Iz&Diz also special mentions for great sets at the end, especially Diz who was playing the night of my stag do february 2001...Fabric also my other favourite club in London, quailty music since day 1 and one of the best dj"s in the form of terry "the guvnor"francis...My dedication to the house scence took a further step in late 2001 when I got the position as Label Manager for Flute Worldwide distribution ,the export side of the legendary Beechwood music and I was looking after labels such as Fabric,BBE,Strut,Hed Kandi/Jazz FM. In late 2002 I moved to Brisbane Australia with my beautiful wife Rozzie where I lived until September 2006 before moving to my current location Byron Bay,which is one of the best places on earth! I held down a year long residency at the Alhambra Lounge in Brisbane, which was probably the best venue to hear quality music......May 2007-I'm back in Staines,UK for the time being-next move watch this space...special mentions to Southport Weekenders,Miami Music conference, charles webster-probably my favourite house producer &all the great people that I have along the way....House is a feeling
