Having launched their first album with the title "Gush Kon", (available at www.phoncetor.com), the Berlin based band Daad (shout, justice) produced their second opus titled, "Tahe Del" (from the depth of heart), after one and a half years.
Their first work largely in hip hop, oriental reggae and raggamuffin style, consisted of positive vibrations about love, politics, drugs and the flight out of Iran. In their second release, consisting of 20 tracks, Daad continues this unique repertoire. "Tahe Del", as the title already says, is a very personal album, where Mehty and Kaaveh sing about their innermost thoughts and experiences. The song "Tahe Del", for instance, addresses racism and their everyday life in Germany. Tracks such as "Khaterat" and "Deltangi" manifest deep emotions - they are about longing and wistful memories. Tunes such as ‘’Man Hanuz’’ and "Azizam" deal with love. They also make political statements as in "Omid Daram". "Ey Vay", "Bia Jelo" and "Taharok" are good dance tracks, while Mehty and Kaaveh do not forget to represent in tunes like "Beato Bede" or "Hala Hame". Finally, they also tell us sad stories about tragic strokes of fate as in "Age In" and in particular about the Near and Middle East in tunes such as "Khavare Miane".
Their musical scope includes straight hip hop, reggae, ragga, reggaeton, Jazz, Persian 6/8 rhythms and other influences. Mehty, the producer of Daad, ensures the sound is suitable for clubs but still remains sophisticated.
Furthermore, DAAD has collaborated with some well-known instrumentalists from the Berlin music scene such as the Filipino pianist Carolyn del Rosario, the Iranian violinist Ruhi Giahchi, the American trumpeter Don Drummond and the Lebanese Keyboard player Diab, who enrich and complete their music.
