The San Antonio Local Film Festival(SAL)is sponsored by the San Antonio Film Institute (SAFI). SAFI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to to serving San Antonio Filmmakers and their audiences.SAL’s goal is to provide a forum for the best SA filmmakers to be recognized and rewarded. SAL is a yearly showcase to present SA's best works to the community, media, sponsors, and national film producers. The 2008 Showcase is scheduled for October 10th, so we hope you mark your calendar!Even more, SAL wants to put some of those hard earned filming expenditures back into the hands of the talented so we can see more of your work! This means cash awards donated by corporate and individual sponsors. SA locals do believe in our Arts community. So write that script, roll the camera, and give us your best! Calls for Entry will begin August 1, 2008.Pig Interests!Contrary to its rather negative reputation in the West, the Pig of Chinese Astrology may be the most generous and honorable Sign of the Zodiac. Pigs are nice to a fault and possess impeccable manners and taste. They have so much of the perfectionist in them that others may be inclined to perceive them as snobs, but this is a misconception. Pigs are simply possessed of a truly luxurious nature, one that delights in finery and riches. This Sign believes in the best qualities of mankind. Pigs care a great deal about friends and family and work hard to keep everyone in their life happy. Helping others is a true pleasure for the Pig, who feels best when everyone else is smiling.
