THE TRUE STORY OF THE MACHINE
" A very long, long, long time ago there were various collectives of people in different cities, states, and regions who had never met one another but shared a sense of community.
The people were you and I. And the community was Hip Hop.
It was a time of discovery and a unique shaping of theories, idealogies, and soundscapes.
There were general sets of rules all based around four solid principles:
Djing - Scratch/Vinyl Techs
Breaking - B-boys & B-girls
Grafitti - Wall Crawlers
Emcing - Wordsmiths
It was a trying time for the music and culture. Hip Hop was often looked upon as a fad to most outsiders and in major markets you had to wait until after hours to hear the music and it's culture in any form.
Shows were few and far inbetween and often that's where crews and alliances would be forged. In a cipher or around a pair of Techniq 1200s and a microphone." (END ROBOT INVASION INTRO)
I've seen a lot and done a few. Made the curve and had some miscues but the bottom line, through and through is... life is like highschool.
