About Me

Hello! My name is Robert and I'm a heterosexual male of Austrian, Irish and Italian ancestry, residing in Boston, Massachusetts, within a neighborhood known as Bay Village. This location puts me within a five minute walk to the clubs, restaurants and shoppes on Boylston and Newbury Streets, and a twenty minute walk to Fenway Park, where I can be found quite often during the Spring and Summer months watching the Boston Red Sox compete, and where, in 2004, the Red Sox delivered a world championship to their long suffering fans, repeating the feat in 2007! Woo-Hoo-Hoo!
I have three degrees - a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Doctorate of Laws, and a Master of Laws in Taxation - and all student loans have been paid! No more debt, but the asset (a great education) still exists! I also hold the Certified Financial Planner designation.
For you women who dare to use this medium, my female friends describe me as handsome, not devestatingly handsome, not ruggedly handsome, but handsome nonetheless. You can decide for yourselves by my photograph above. I am 5'11", 215 pounds with medium brown/grey hair, bright blue eyes, five scars and one tattoo. I drink socially, but do not smoke. I own my home (well actually I own the front steps - the bank owns the rest!).
While I work probably 50 to 55 hours a week, that is a far cry from the 65 to 70 hour weeks I routinely logged as an full-time attorney in private practice. I work now for a law firm but as a financial advisor assisting high net worth individuals and families in determining their investment policy statements and the proper form of ownership for their investment assets, as well as assist with the implementation of estate, gift and income tax avoidance and deferral techniques for these individuals and families.
I like to hike for my physical activity, and the National Park Service has tremendous trails for hiking. Often, I'll take my camera and stop while hiking, and if something catches my eye, I snap away. I am not a nature boy, but I do prefer to be outdoors rather than indoors, and I've been described as a conservative "tree hugger" politically, a characterization that I find a tad extreme. Having said that about the outdoors, I do go to the movies quite a bit as nothing beats the big screen! I also listen to music a great deal and attend concerts perhaps half a dozen times a year.
That's about it. Not complex, but not simple either.

My Interests

Photography! I adore nature scenery, particularly the topography of Arizona and California. Below are some examples of my work.

..

I'd like to meet:

Other music lovers, movie buffs, photography enthusiasts, and of course, women willing to pose. Also, tell me about interesting scenery to photograph!

Music:

What do I like? All types of music! Classic Rock (Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Doors), Maximum Rythym and Blues (The Rolling Stones, The Who, Guns N Roses), Folk Rock (Bob Dylan, The Sundays, 10,000 Maniacs), Country Rock (Allman Brothers Band, Neil Young, The Band), Singer-Songwriters (Jackson Browne, Lloyd Cole, Edwin McCain), Punk (The Clash, Iggy and The Stooges, Talking Heads), Alternative (Collective Soul, R.E.M., The Replacements) and Grunge (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden). An eclectic mix, no doubt!

Movies:

I adore movies depicting possible futures. Bladerunner (Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer) stands out as my favorite. Also, the year 2006 brought Children Of Men (Clive Owen, Julianna Moore, Michael Caine) which I believe will grow in stature in the years to come.
A Couple Of Outrageous Lines From Baseball Movies:
From "Bill Durham" by the "Crash Davis" character -
"Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a Constitutional amendment outlawing astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days."
From "Long Gone" by the "Stud Cantrell" character -
"When God made Man, He made him outta string. He had a little left, so He left that little thing. When God made Woman, He made her outta lace. He didn't have enough, so He left that little space."
I have to admit, sometimes after a hard day at work, I feel like doing THIS.....

Television:

Not much time for it, but when I do, it's '24' or 'The Shield' or 'Mad Men' for drama; for laughs, I'll check out 'My Name Is Earl' or 'The Office' or 'Two and a Half Men.'
Of course, HBO's 'The Sopranos' delivered both!
I believe Tony Soprano is dead. If you watch the "Soprano Home Movies" episode (Season 6, Episode 78), Tony and Bobby, while fishing on a lake near Bobby's home in the Adirondacks, are having a conversation about what it must be like to get whacked, and Bobby muses, "The music stops and everything goes black." Isn't this exactly what takes place in the final scene? In fact, the last sound that is heard in that of a door chime. I interpret that to mean the bell tolls for thee, Tony Soprano.
Of course, the song playing at the beginning of the scene was "All That You Dream" by Little Feat, so perhaps I was looking at a dream sequence, and the fade to black was Tony waking up!
The Sopranos: Season 6, Episode 86 ('Made In America'), Final Scene
