The company MAJOR MTM MUSIC GMBH was founded in Munich in March 1996. Two months later, the label MTM MUSIC released its first CD.
According to the motto “quality, not quantity“, we concentrate our work on the release of high quality HARD ROCK and AOR productions.
The MT stands for Thomas Häßler, World and European Soccer Champion, who has played more than 100 times for the German soccer team. Thomas is an avid collector of hard rock and melodic rock albums. With MTM, his long held wish to turn this hobby into a profession after his soccer career has come true.
The debut of the English band TEN marked the beginning of MTM MUSIC.
During the last 10 years, about 200 CDs have been released by the label MTM MUSIC. The sub-label MTM CLASSIX dedicates itself to reissuing rare productions and albums previously only available on vinyl.
Throughout the years, MTM created a working and constantly expanding distribution network. Besides the long-time partnership with the German distributor SPV, other European distributors such as SUBURBAN (Benelux), ZINK Distribution / BONNIER AMIGO (Scandinavia), CARGO (England), UNDERCLASS (France), GOI (Spain) or FRONTIERS (Italy) represent reliable partners for MTM.
The release of our productions in Japan is carried out by companies such as MARQUEE AVALON, KING RECORDS, JVC-VICTOR, PONY CANYON and NIPPON CROWN. In addition to that, MTM has successfully marketed their products in Eastern Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia.
With the publishing company MTM PUBLISHING, MTM MUSIC rounds off its range of services. We are able to assist our artists with the professional use of mechanical rights and the various financial modalities involved therein. Artists connected to MTM PUBLISHING will be marketed world wide.
Many artists make use of our long-time experience, gathered with our publishing company and label. We are in touch with well-known producers, artists, studios, other labels, publishers, composers, song writers - and the specialized press worldwide.
Highlights during the last 10 years have been the releases of TNT, DARE, HTP PROJECT (Glenn Hughes & Joe Lynn Turner), LOVERBOY, RICK SPRINGFIELD, WARRANT, STRYPER, TONY MARTIN (Black Sabbath), MOTHER’S FINEST and XYZ among others. Now, in the year of MTM’s 10th anniversary, the signing of the legendary rock bands VENGEANCE and SINNER is a real treat for fans and critics.
The team around MTM’s managing director Mario Lehmann and Sebastian Eder, responsible for sales marketing, is expanded with Matthias Lasch (Mat Sinner), who will work as “Head of A&R“ because of his long-time experience in the business and his international contacts. Furthermore, MTM benefits from his work as an active musician, producer and songwriter with his bands SINNER and PRIMAL FEAR. In the course of this cooperation, the long ago established sublabel PsychoActive will now focus on on modern and young rock bands! The first promising acts will be announced shortly. But also with MTM’s established bands such as VENGEANCE, whose album “Back In The Ring“ is currently causing a stir, or TNT, whose first DVD will be released in fall, MTM will definitely set a course in this year’s fall. Other positive news come from Wales: the band DARE has announced a more rocking album for late fall. And with SINNER’s new album “Task Of Sanity“, coming in January 2007, the new year will start with a bang!
