About Me

Hmmm...about me. I often let these little tests speak for me. I'm feeling like it's a bit of the easy way out, so I'm challenging myself to write something original about me. I think because I think a lot and see things from many perspectives, it feels a little overwhelming to put me in a nutshell. Ohhh, the pressure. Well either you know me or you don't. I'm married to the truth and will stick to it till the end. It's often a painful task for me and other people, but it's deeply embedded in my DNA to be that way and I don't really mind. It's more freeing for me to have my feet firmly planted in reality than have my head in the cosmos and totally disconnected from that which is happening right here, right now. I am grateful for having what I have which as an American isn't "much", but in the grand scheme of things, I HAVE EVERYTHING. It saddens me that so many people in this world go without and that mothers in Haiti have to feed their children "cookies" made out of dirt because the food prices have sky-rocketed. Sometimes I go without heat because I can't afford it, but I can curl up with my North Face sleeping bag on a futon that some friends gave me and watch basic cable and snack on something I really don't need to eat. I am rich because I am free to post my thoughts on this website and stay connected with loved ones and new friends and music and artists that inspire me and I don't have to even use my feet to do it. I am fortunate. I work hard and feel complete when I'm being productive and helping people. My job is a full-time mentor for high school students and I also teach an art class. Yes, I love to travel. I've had quite good luck with taking a lot of spontaneous and some planned trips. I've driven twice across the country (once by myself in my old truck). I've been to Europe a handful of times, Ireland, France, Amsterdam, Germany, Spain, The Grand Canary Islands (Spain), Italy and also Morocco in Northern Africa. I went to art school and love to paint, which I never do. I also love to sculpt, make pottery, and create with all types of media, but I never do that either. I'm busy paying the bills and dreaming of that renovated barn space I hope to own in my future so I can work like a mad scientist/artist in my "free" time. I also want to write a book or five. It's never too late to start, so maybe I'll do that tomorrow... (Tomorrow is coming and I'm working on setting up time to do these things and turning off the TV now that it's warmer out and I can function in my apartment, thawed! Strong will kick in now!) As far as love. Well, that is so huge, my brain can't wrap around it. So I'll just leave it up to faith that I will feel a love one day that is like no other. How to get there, I don't know. I'll just keep my feet planted on the earth and my eyes straight ahead and my heart wide open and my wisdom coming down from above. Any questions? PhaedrusFeathers on AIM. Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

I'd like to meet:

I do think that women could make politics irrelevant. By a kind of spontaneous cooperative action, the like of which we have never seen. Which is so far from people's ideas of state structure and vital social structure that seems to them like total anarchy. And what it really is is very subtle forms of interrellation which do not follow sort of hierachical pattern which is fundamentally patriarchal. The opposite to patriarchy is not matriarchy but fraternity. And I think it's women who are going to have to break this spiral of power and find the trick of cooperation.By Germaine Greer
