You've Found Lost!

About Me

Download the current issue in PDF
Our magazine is unique for a number of reasons. Our perspective is wholly connective and decidedly diverse. Our contributing writers, editors and designers span the spectrum of passports, careers, pierogi preferences, shoe sizes, tram lines home and corresponding bathroom symbols. You will notice right off the bat, that from one article or column to the next, the level and style of English changes dramatically. This is done deliberately to reflect and respect the cornucopia of English levels and styles held by our writers as well as you, the readers.
NO mutual exclusivity. No cliques. No pedastals. Just Krakow: in Words, Pictures, Symbols and Shapes.
In this, our introductory issue, you will be introduced to most of the regular columns that will appear in each issue of Lost in Krakow. Not only will you be introduced to each columnist in their own words and in their own style, but for our first cover story we took the self-indulgent liberty of describing how Lost was found(ed). We feel it is important that we let you, the reader, know where we came from, who we are and where we are going.
And as far as the particular color of my own “Editorial” ink and the style of my “In Chief” pen, I will say this: I strive to strike a balance between concerted interaction, honest observation, and genuinely stimulating content. Since moving to Krakow almost two years ago, my gaze has remained acutely fixed upon the shifting sands of the city’s landscape and I have no plans of looking away any time soon.
Finally, I would like to stress that the magazine you hold in your hands is not confined to its covers. There are a lot of parts of this magazine that are indeed interactive and we are seeking to engage you, the readers, on as many fronts as possible. We have set up a communal forum for people to submit personal messages and announcements as well as classifieds modeled on the Massolit message board (p. 20). Along these lines I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our first monthly roundtable discussion to be held at Massolit on September 12th at 20:00. The editorial staff will be fielding questions and comments about the first issue and discussing potential topics and articles for next month’s magazine.
Also on the horizon in the very near future is the online version of Lost in Krakow. This will be a wholly interactive web portal which in addition to supporting the content of the magazine, will include web-exclusive content, blogs, forums, competitions, and an all-encompassing events calendar.
I encourage you to contact me or any of the other writers in this issue at any time if you have any questions, comments, criticisms, rants, or rotten fruit.
We are very glad you Found us. Now go get Lost in Krakow.
