this i write after having just met chrissie hynde for the first time and blurting out at her "you're in the right profession!" what the fuck was that? i blame the pot. and the fact that anything you say to chrissie hynde just won't be as cool as she is all the time.
i've already met wallace shawn, brian wilson, ric ocasek (my guardian angel), elaine stritch, liza minelli and ben vereen, and had truly terrific moments with each, so my life is good.
oh - bob fosse would have been fun, but it's too late for that isn't it? and actually a whole slew of dead people that made a difference...

nights of cabiria, the philadelphia story, bringing up baby, many screwball comedies of the 30's, harold and maude, henry fool, my dinner with andre, clockwork orange, the good, the bad, and the ugly (ennio morricone!!), the thin man, manhattan (basically any woody allen movie with diane keaton in it - you know, before he started to suck), fletch (chevy chase, you know, before he started to suck), cabaret, all that jazz, fred and ginger musicals, ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars (you must see this concert dvd. fucking amazing performer), i'll add to later, don't have time right now...
Classic TV: Sesame Street, Muppet Show, anything Jim Henson touched, Sid and Marty Kroft productions, old Twilight Zones, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show... hate 95% of TV right now, but am loving Rockstar Supernova - even though wacky underdog Zayda got the boot - and Project Runway and Henry Rollins' show on IFC. oh, and The Daily Show, of course. i would go straight for a day for Jon Stewart. and Henry Rollins.
