I love music, movies and reading. I love the outdoors, be it on the quiet beach near my home or snowmobiling to my camp in the winter. Burnt Woods Bash and the Burnt Woods Crib Championship are highlights of my year.Anyone who reads my blogs will see I'm a big fan of mixed martial arts, particularly the UFC. I'm not a violent person, I just enjoy the sport.
Stephen King. I'd have a few questions for him, mainly about the Dark Tower series.I'm also an admirer of Michael Moore, and would love to sit and have a conversation with him. And, of course, Bono.
Very little new music interests me. If I'm popping in a CD it's usually something from the late 80s or early 90s, when glam metal reigned supreme. I also love older classic stuff - am a big fan of Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones and love Led Zeppelin. I also may be the biggest Kiss fan you'll ever meet. My favourite bands of the past 10 years are The Tragically Hip and Collective Soul.
I am a huge horror movie fan. My favourite film of all time is Jaws, while a guilty pleasure is the Friday the 13th franchise. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre scares the living crap outta me. Some of my favourite recent flicks are Hostel, Wolf Creek and the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. Non-horror favourites include Almost Famous, Forrest Gump, the original Star Wars trilogy, The Matrix flicks, Lord of the Rings, Shawshank Redemption, Reservoir Dogs and Footloose.
Don't really watch a whole lot of TV anymore. When I do it's often whatever hockey game is on that particular evening, or Canadian political shows like Mike Duffy Live or Question Period. I also enjoy Blind Date reruns and The Ultimate Fighter.
Am a long-time Stephen King fan. Own his entire collection and have read them all several times over. Other fiction writers I enjoy are Peter Abrahams and Michael Connelly, and in my younger days loved a good Louis L'Amour western. For non-fiction, I love to read about Canadian political history, and am currently tracking down and reading biographies of our past prime ministers.
My grandfathers, Millard Wagstaff and Reginald Barron, both Second World War veterans.
