And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

About Me

Well, I’ve always been an artist, but I have also become very involved in activism, particularly vegan outreach and animal activism. Art and activism are my main passions in life and I obsess over them daily. I have been creating lampwork glass bead jewelry under the name GlitterBug Glass for the past 5 or 6 years but have recently changed my business name to broke down barn , after a dilapidated barn on my family’s farm in Frankfort, Ky. I sell my finished work to galleries nationally and participate in shows. In addition to this, Matt and I started collaborative studio work together under the name Anima . We just moved, so we are working on getting the glassblowing studio back up and running. It should be built in the spring. We’ve started a local arts and activist group A.N.I.M.A.L (Animal/Nature Investigation through Music, Art and Literature) Our group works on collaborative projects around town, that explore the human-animal relationship. We just completed an enrichment mural for eleven chimpanzees at the Primate Rescue Center in Nicholasville, Ky. Now we are working on publishing a full-color Journal with artists and writers. Aagh! Well I stay busy enough I suppose. You can also visit my blog , which I try to update as much as I can.

Music:

Radiohead is my favorite, anything kind of dark, depressing, or artistic moves me. Music that makes me nauseous includes: Country, Christain, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, holiday music, smooth jazz, not so smooth jazz, most love songs, jam bands, Shania Twain, pop-tarts, John Mayer, crunk, well you get the idea. Some other music I DO enjoy includes: Tori Amos, Iron and Wine, Fruit Bats, Pink Floyd, still love Nirvana, NIN, Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Ben Folds, that one 4 non Blondes song, Beck, The Fugees, the Cure, Marvin Gaye and various oldies, some disco here and there, Jeff Buckley, I find old Guns and Roses songs hilarious and fun to sing along to, but I also have to go back to the old-school days of Wu-tang Clan, Genius/GZA, Gravedigga's etc. And Nelly McKay is a brilliant vegan revolutionary!

Movies:

When I do relax it's always with a good horror movie...I love anything that is scary even cheesy scary movies.

Television:

AAAGH KILL YOUR TELEVISION

Heroes:

Anti-speciest-people who feel hopeless to change the world but do it anyway-and Chester cat-he's been shot, had his jaw broken twice, lost an eye and is the nicest cat you'll ever meet.
