About Me

IN A NUTSHELL

I’m an award winning shorts writer/director who is passionate about telling interesting, powerful and unique stories. Dedicated, hardworking and hardplaying (!) over the past eight years I’ve had the pleasure to work on some amazing TV programmes and range of film projects. I have directed twelve exciting episodes for Channel 4’s award winning teen soap ‘Hollyoaks’. I am currently the lead director on BBC Northern Ireland’s Teen drama series ‘Seacht’ shooting this summer before directing a Late Night Hour Special for Hollyoaks on E4 this Autumn.IN SOME MORE DETAIL I have directed and produced short films, professional corporate videos, music videos and also written and directed for the Children’s BBC, where I worked for almost four years. My passion lies in directing film and I’ve written, directed and produced six successful short dramas.THE SHORT FILMS I have directed six short films starting with TRAIN OF THOUGHT (2000) starring Ray Panthaki (Eastenders, 28 Days Later). Then there was the psychological thriller ‘WATCHING ME DANCE (2001). I JUST WANT (2002), a short film about one mans fear of flying, was broadcasted on Meridian TV in 2002 and SPEAK TO ME (2002), a psychological piece about a young couples betrayal, was broadcasted on Hands on RTE1 and also screened at The Deaf Film and TV Festival 2002, Portobello Film Festival 2003 and The Bournemouth Film Festival 2003. MORE THAN A JOBS WORTH (2004), a short about a gifted young boy on work experience at an Employment Centre, was awarded funding from the Enfield Film Fund (Film London). The film was accepted by the British Council and was screened at numerous film festivals both nationally and internationally. The film also WON BEST NEW DIRECTOR at the Greenwich Film Festival, London 2004 and was nominated for BEST SHORT at the Raindance East Film Festival 2005. Vote for my film (if you have seen it and like it!) on IMBD http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475663/MY TRAINING After graduating from Bournemouth University in BA(Hons) TV and Video Production, I was lucky enough to continue learning whilst working and gained further training during my years at the BBC. In 2004, I was selected for the Children’s BBC Drama Director Training Scheme. I was also selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus 2005an initiative run by the Berlin International Film Festival, which invite filmmakers across the world to have master classes from the great filmmakers of today. Further director training include Two Camera Directing Course at The National Film and Television School and Yorkshire TVs highly regarded Directing for the Screen MY OTHER DIRECTING PROJECTS I have directed a music video for the band Stone Halo (www.myspace.com/stonehalo - the song is City of Angels) which is now uploaded here on myspace for you to check out (please excuse the low resolution – a better version will soon be up!). It was great fun to shoot (even in a very scary hospital!) hopefully more directing of music videos to come…In conjunction with National Film and TV School and B3 Media, I also directed a pilot for a feature film VIVA LEAP DIVA. The film is an ensemble piece, improvisation-based, magical realist offbeat comedy drama about four alternative love stories set over the course of the unique and strange Leap Day.
MY LATEST SHORT FILMMy last short film was for The Drama Centre. 'The Green Fairy' The film is about a young woman discovering the truth about her fiancé and the betrayal of her closest friends on her hen night. Dark, spooky stuff with a touch of green magic! Have a sneak preview of the trailer exclusive to myspace!

Projects that I am currently working on include a pyschological thriller, a ‘coming of age’ story set in Cyprus, a supernatural tale and a futuristic tragic love story.
