Hi everyone, my name's Anil... but back to the story
Upon the completion of bringing down his independently made colossal 8 hour epic down to 2 hours in 7 weeks and furthermore, editing a feature magically in a language and culture that I wasn't adversed in, in any way shape or form, the director told me I was special.
Both himself and the producer were amazed at how I was able to do what I was doing. I simply brought to their attention and reminded them that cinema transcends all cultures, creeds, beliefs, and ways of thinking, as it's about emotively connecting with people with an inspired vision and nothing else.
Very rarely have I come across any commentation in the history of cinema that has talked about this or made a point of talking about it. Cinema is only about emotion, about how one feels and is made to feel during their investment into your vision. No matter what the subject or criteria, we are removed of our differences for a couple of hours, in which we all hold each others hands and become one.
When I left the Far East the director took me to the airport and embraced me with a lasting thought, he told me there are two people you will meet in your journey that is life. The first is a 'cross'. A cross is a person who is selfish, a person who starts in the middle and walks up and down and side by side and never has any roots to anything, they are only interested in themselves, plasticated in nature, both superficial and superfluous in all they do.
The other, very few will ever meet, this is an '8', an 8 is not burdened by desire for self, but chooses a respect of self, always evolving, always fluid and always embracing, without the need to be recognised or be patted on the back for endeavours that are natural for them to do so. They give without wanting anything in return and become the hope they wish to see.
As a spirited human being I know in life what will be will be, and that having a balance to your actions will help and aid you in your goals and dreams. In this journey we all undertake called life, know that you are the journey, you are the leader in that journey, more today than any other day, know that you are the hope, and know that we can all be '8s' in a world filled with 'crosses'.
Here's to meeting and speaking and embracing you all.
Love Anil
and if there is any chance you believe in cinema and can support in any way shape or form, then check out my current projects in development blog. Cinema needs saving and only we can achieve that together by telling stories of human and cultural worth, that are also without loss of being entertaining.
