Michelle Owen f.k.a Luna has been a DJ since 1998, ranked 37 on Shejay.com Top 100 female DJ pole (2006) and has traveled abroad playing in Italy, Australia, China, England and Spain. Her style influenced by House and Techno trying always to hold a groove.
She has played for Ministry Of Sound (London), Manumission (Ibiza), We Love (Australia), Electrosplash (Spain), S,TA (Italy), Retox (London), Sounds On Sunday (Australia), Home (Australia), Tank (Australia), Field Day (Australia). In 2007 alone she supported Terry Francis, Booka Shade, DJ T, Yousef, Mike Monday, Jo Mills, Claude Vonstroke and Clive Henry.
In 2007 Michelle relocated from Sydney, Australia to live abroad and spent the summer in Ibiza working for Ibiza Rocks/Manumission gathering ideas for productions and played at Manumission in the Coco Loco room. Later that year Michelle moved to London to work for Buzzin' Fly/Strange Feeling Records, Phonica Records and spin @ MOS London for the Ibiza party Home Of La Troya.
Michelle has also had the experience of working for SONYBMG Australia as a International Product Manager, Director to her own records label "Eyelash records", record store 12" buyer, radio DJ, assistant sound engineer and played the electric guitar…and the cow bell.
Redeemed for her on point mixing and track selection Michelle has had some very nice comments about her skills from some admirable DJ's/ Producers in the industry –
"I found myself grooving away to Michelle, whom DJ T had regarded highly after seeing her in Spain. She played some really nice and deep techy sounds, and her mixing and track selection were top notch. With such good music being pumped out of the speakers, it was the perfect warm-up for a night that promised so much" (inthemix.com.au review for DJ T @ Electric Avenue NYE)
"She's an international star in the making" (Kid Kinobe – Former 1 Australian DJ)
"Best warm up DJ I've played with" (Mike Monday - UK)
"One of the best female DJ's around" (Tayo - UK)
"Quality mixing and track selection" (Retox- UK)
History

Michelle's musical career began when she was 15, learning how to play lead guitar and volunteered in recording studios learning how to sound engineer leading her to work with great Australian bands like, The Church. She moved onto the position of A&R at Foghorn Records for the "Grow Your Own" Australian band compilations...this is when the idea of starting "Eyelash Records" was born!
Back then the inspiration started with Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter, Green Velvet, Nick Warren, Renaissance & Global Underground compilations.
Besides DJ'ing Michelle hosted a radio show on Rhythm fm (Sydney) called "Cycles", playing tribal house and progressive. Then moved onto FBI radio in 2003 co-hosting on "Sunsets" alongside Kid Kenobi (35 Australian DJ 3 years in a row)
In 2003, EYELASH RECORDS commenced teaming up with Foghorn Records. INNER CITY BEATS compilation was the first release. The goal: to feature unsigned and up-and-coming producers/groups from Australia giving them a chance to experience a release and showcase their music to the rest of the nation. Vol 1 (2003) & ICB Vol2 (2005)
DJ'ing took on a new life of its own in 2004 and her hobby turned into a career. She was invited to play at Field Day, Sydney's biggest New Years Dat event playing alongside Groove Armada, Roger Sanchez and Yousef and held residencies at Sounds On Sunday, The Chinese Laundry and Moulin Rouge.
