Stephanie Wells-Muhammad begun her music journey as Shotgun Chevy a crip doll in Cleveland, Ohio in 1990 as she admired her cousins skillfully putting together rhymes and beats using pens at the kitchen table. Her determination linked her up with local rap group Unit 3A who did a song with Donell Jones, and L T Moe who is now producing tracks for Ludachris and other Atlanta artist. Her name changed from Shotgun Chevy to Lady Blue and finally Chevy Blue.“I was born in a 1956 baby blue Chevrolet classic car. That’s where my name comes from. Plus I was raised in a gang environment where everybody wore blue. I have never wore red and I never will Crip 4 lifeâ€Chevy started battling other street rappers making a name for her self all around the Cleveland underground scene. She won her first rap trophy in 1993 in a black history poetry slam at her junior high school. After her first trophy there was no turning back. Chevy continued to battle and build up her collection of trophies accumulating over 25 for talent and battle contests. In 1999 she recorded a album with her group consisting of 3 males and herself titled Flawless Brigade. Shortly after that she recorded her first solo album titled “Supa Bytch†That album was only released underground due to the fact label said she was†too ruff†for their labels. That did not stop the female who dominated the Cleveland male dominated battle scene. 18 years later Chevy Blue is still winning battle competitions and keeping her respect as Cleveland’s premier FEMALYRICST.Willing and ready for battle Chevy will not stop until the whole world hears and she makes ‘HERSTORYâ€
