Welcome to Wicked Riddums!
We're developing the site as a source for information about music, special events and environmental issues affecting the Caribbean, with an emphasis on the island of Jamaica.
If you have pictures from an event, and you'd like to share them with other people, send me a note.
Be sure to sign-up for our newsletter that will include updates on the cruise, the artists we represent and events we'd like you to know about. Click the link on the left, then enter your email address in the box.
You're looking at the port of Ocho Rios. That's the Carnival Imagination at the dock. Click on the image and it will expand. When it does, you'll see a vertical bar on the left side of the image. The lower you click on it, the farther out you go. You can zoom in as far as the second bar at the top. You can grab the image and move it around.
We'll be back in Ocho Rios in February 2007 aboard the Imagination. Why don't you plan to join us! Click on the Reggae Cruise link for more information.
Let Gwen know if you are interested, so she can hold a room for you.
In addition to the musical element of the cruise, we are working with Miami Dive Stop, a dive operator in the Miami area, to set up a diving in Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios for certified divers. More on that later.

We're also going to tell you about an environmental issue of great concern to scientists. The coral reef systems that surround the islands in the Caribbean are dying at an alarming rate, according to the Environmental News Network website ( www.enn.com ). Click here to read Caribbean Coral Suffers Record Bleaching, Death , a story that was in the March 31st edition. One step in a relief effort is the construction of artificial reefs to provide shelter for homeless fish. If the reef has an artistic design, there is something for scuba divers to see.
.."bigcomp('IDX/IDX040/285336.jpg');" height="127" alt="" src="images/marley_reef.jpg" width="98" align="left" border="2"Jamaica has six protected areas, including the Ocho Rios Marine Protected Area and the Montego Bay Marine Park. There is an idea being 'floated' around Miami suggesting a statue of Bob Marley, or similar, be incorporated into an artificial reef and placed in a near-shore, shallow-water dive site in one of the locations. It's a combination of eco-tourism and marine art.
