Laura Hawthorne

Laura was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She began singing in church during grade school and knew at a very young age that she wanted to become a professional singer. She spent 11 yrs in New York City singing, recording, writing songs and growing as an artist. Laura has been a National Anthem singer for the New York Mets for 10 years and has opened regularly for Country Recording Artists Pam Tillis, Marty Stuart, Keith Urban, Black Hawk, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Lee Ann Womack at the Dutchess County Fair.
In 2000, Laura’s brother, Jay, had a terrible construction accident which left him a ventilator dependent quadriplegic. “I dropped everything to be by his side. There are no words to describe the pain and suffering that my brother went through and still does every day of his life. Life for him and our family has changed forever.”
She wrote "Ease the Pain" shortly after Jay was injured.
Laura, in conjunction with the New York Mets, created the 1st Annual Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day, in which her brother was honored on the field.
"After my brother's accident my heart started to change. What was life really about ? Striving for stardom? Seeking riches on this earth? The Lord started to open my eyes. I now have a deeper purpose. I sing for His glory, not my own. Amen!"
Laura's Testimony:
It took a while, but I have finally let go of “MY singing career”. The Lord has been pruning me and I now serve Him through a singing ministry. My spiritual growth has been amazing, and I know it's due to my willingness to be obedient and disciplined to Him. I have found a peace within myself that I never knew before. It is very challenging to maintain that peaceful place, and for me, it requires reading the Word and staying focused on it. I am excited to serve Him and share my testimony with you!
