From allieI'm late...always - never fashionably or intentionaly. But in my own defense I feel compelled to raise the issue of the ever-so-vast & changing meanings of the word "late"
"too late" = not on time. Whereas - late-evening, late-blossom, late-autumn - are perfectly punctual. Dead persons have certaintly got themselves beyond time, but then what difficult temporal longing lurks in our calling them "late"? Lateness doesnt name a single relation to time, but it always brings time in its wake. It's a way of recognizing time, whether it be missed or met or gone... so there.My heart feels more than I intend for it to. It's both a blessing & a curse. I'm am just a lover with an opinion on just about everything...but the majority of my opinions are open for debate. I crave substance - depth... color in my life. I have a proclivity to judge the music you listen to and have been harassed for my music snobbery. I love to travel and I love children. I'd rather be alone than be in bad company. I know when speech is proper and where silence. I love most people with good hearts and good intentions. My heart hurts more often than not but i trust there is advantage in the wisdom won from pain.
I believe in healthy fear - as it must keep its watchful place at the heart's controls. I believe that words are the physicians of a mind dis-eased & I believe the mass media causes sexual misdirection. It prompts us to need something deeper than what we want. It makes it almost impossible to fall in love with any acumen of normalcy. Impracticality seems almost cool. Self-deprecating cleverness has become a virtue. This is why Woody Allen has made nebbish guys cool; he makes people assume there is something profound about having a relationship based on witty conversation & intellectual discourse. There isn't. Its just another gimmick, and it's no different than wanting to be with someone because they are thin or rich or the lead singer of The Cure and actually it might be worse because intellectuals are far more complicated.. yet inspiring i suppose..
