LEAF-FAT

The band was formed in the summer of 2001 as a high-school band with a desire to play punk-rock music. Soon after, the line-up changed with the addition of two new members. As such, they took the stage for the first time in early 2002 and the constituents haven’t changed ever since.
Of course, they have long left the 3-chord punk music behind, developing into a unique post hardcore/rock band ready to take on new challenges. This is a wide description but the best one in words, since their music comfortably swims in quite a few genres. Though moving forward all along, their punk-rock roots are still somewhat present.
Their new album “RockPaperScissors”, coming out December 3rd 2007, holds 11 tracks full of energy, wit, diverse tunes and “cojones”. This is an album ready to hit the globe!
The first time this band made themselves noticeable was with their first video for the song called “Winter Song” in late 2004. This was a low budget video but it did its job: it put the name Leaf-fat out there and announced the potential this band bears. This video was followed by their debut album “Underworld Kingdom” (2005) and the second video for the song “Individual Happiness”, both making a huge mark on the regional scene.
After that, international and homeland recognition was slowly visible on the horizon. Some of their achievements are winning the second place at Newcomer festival in Austria among almost 100 bands; being voted band of the month March (2006) at www.europunk.net; sharing the stage with bands like Soulfly, Mad Caddies, The Real McKenzies, Antimaniax…; U.K. being voted one of the best alternative albums at a local radio station etc.
All this meant that the stages in Austria, Germany and elsewhere opened their doors and Leaf-fat were able to show their music and expand their fan base. Then, in the Summer of 2007 when the band decided to hit the studio and record their aforementioned second studio album RockPaperScissors, their live performances took a halt for a while. Though, to alleviate their absence on stage, they issued their third video UK and released their first live DVD, featuring a live concert, two videos and an interview.
As mentioned above, “RockpaperScissors” is coming out December 3rd, followed by a new video for the “RockPaperScissors” song. Leaf-fat will be performing live on the stage 14th December for the first time after the studio break, promoting the album to the home fans and getting ready to hit stages everywhere else.
