Welcome in the world of MikkiM, a place where the united beats of techno, drum&bass and breakbeat meet the hypnotic offbeats of ska & reggae, the psychedelic dub space delays and the dirty wild punk notes.In my songs I'm using, besides my own ideas, a lot of my favourite music that I sample, reshape and deform with my machines and computer. In my livesets and in my studio stuff, you might hear some well known sampled fragments, basslines, vocals, etc. from the Clash, Madness, the Specials,Renegade Soundwave, Dreadzone, Dead Kennedys, and many more surprises...
I have variety of different styles that I can play live. It depends on what type of action i play, but I enjoy mostly doing a journey through all of them..Firstly I can play dub oriented liveset.., Secondly breakbeat, jungle and drum&bass and finally straight beat techno style.In this liveset you will hear what i call skatek..a techno with offbeat ska style.. Honestly in all of my live and studio production the OFFBEAT plays important role..
I m connected with the Cross Club in Prague, where i work as a sound engineer and where my studio is located,I enjoy much doing sound for talented musicians and making recording sessions three floors above the club.
I m also a guitarist in a ska punk band JET 8 .I have always liked the ska, reggae, dub and punk rock music and I also love going to the techno,drum and bass and breakbeat parties..so when I began to create electronic music, I try to connect this two worlds..you can check the outcome on this page..enjoy!
My second vinyl EP OFFBEATEK went to press. In summer 08 it should be available in the european distribution. There will be 4tracks, 2 originals and 2 remixes - One Step Beyond from the Madness and Gangsters, originally from the Specials.
After releasing two uptempo straight beat vinyls, my next step ll be dub/breakbeat/jungle oriented..stay tuned.
