The DMAs were created in 2000 as a dedicated event designed to celebrate Australian talent in dance music. A night devoted to local DJs, artists, producers and club nights; the recognised and the not so recognised players in the ever-strengthening Australian dance scene.
The annual event is now in planning phase for the DMA awards ceremony, which will take place on Friday 17th November 2006.
The DMA has become a well-recognised brand name within Australia. Winning artists and nominees continue to use the DMA accolade as a means to quantify their success and achievements within Australia and overseas.
