Kee. She appeared on The Bobby Jones New Artist showcase. Recently she was the opening act for a college inspirational tour that traveled from Syracuse University in New York to Clemson University in South Carolina with many stops in between. She has been told on numerous occasions that her charismatic, live performances share similarities to CeCe Winans and Kirk Franklin.In addition to Christian venues, Sylvia's music has crossed over into mainstream. She has performed in some of New York City's renowned spots such as Madison Square Garden and the Soul Café.In addition to singing, Sylvia Jones is a gifted playwright and actress. She has written several plays and dramatizations, some of which are incorporated into her live performances. Several years ago, she had the opportunity to make a minor appearance in a play entitled “In Times Like These,†which starred gospel singer, Vickie Winan. She also received vocal coaching from Patricia Carey, mother of pop superstar Mariah Carey.Recently, she released her solo debut album that is being warmly received by many audiences and retailers. More recently she won an award for Connecticut’s New Female Solo Artist of the year.In a previous ministry, Sylvia served as an elder for seven years, later becoming the pastor over the worshipping arts department. All of these experiences have prepared her for this present time. She has patiently waited for her season, her time to go forth and now that time has come.Her much anticipated solo debut album was recently released on her independent label, Breaking of Day Entertainment.
