Songs that have REALLY stood out for me over the years include Joe Smooth's "Promised Land" Ce Ce Rogers "Someday", Inner City "Pennies From Heaven" Marshall Jefferson's CLASSIC "House Music Anthem" Jimi Polo's "Free Yourself/Better Days, Will Downing "A Love Supreme" Robert Owens "I'll Be Your Friend" Frankie Knuckles "Tears" and Aly Us "Follow Me". I remember driving home after a gig one Friday evening listening to Kiss fm, and Dean Savonne played this new tune on Strictly Rhythm recordings. "WELL" this smooth bassline came rolling out from my car stereo, with lyric's that were so uplifting, totally blew me away that was the first time i heard "Follow me". I recall ringing a dozen record shops the following day desperately trying to get hold of a copy for that night to spin in my set.
