Gary Werbisky, Turntable technician, musical misfit, odd but smells kinda nice in a funny sort of eeeuughh way, full time part timer, Formerly DJ Momentum, DJ Mo, Mo, Our Maureen and that cock nose fuck but still an all round good egg who has been mixing like a god since 1991.
At the age of 8 Gary was playing the piano (self taught), then the drums and then after a few years playing about with other instruments he pulled the hifi from the living room, upstairs and put it next to the hifi in his bedroom, then taught himself how to scratch then beatmix (using non speed adjust belt drive hifi turntables it might be worth noting) and then started making house music on his Atari ST and shortly after his Amiga using Octomed (apparently he lost many months playing with Octomed) by the age of 14 he played at the world famous pleasuredrome (the UK’s number one techno club at that time) on the under 18’s night, at the time back in 1992, the pleasuredrome also featured regular guests like Carl Cox and the newly discovered Moby.
Gary played various clubs/bars/events/radio over the following 8 years including the 8000 capacity “life at bowlers†event and had regular slots on regional radio stations such as Sound FM.
Around the turn of the millenium Gary left DJ’ing as a career to persue a career in computers, holding various senior positions in some of Europe’s largest computer companies Gary joined a small company in 2003 as a shareholding managing director, then created another company, built them both to be successful entities in their own right, then sold his shares 2 years later and went to work for a leading worldwide manufacturer of computer components and now is in the process of setting up another computer company aswell as releasing the mixes he has never stopped making for himself and his friends to promote his DJ career once more.
Gary has been said to be one of the most natural DJ talents around, son of a DJ, he is usually bored playing with less than 3 sources of music, some of his live shows have included up to 4 decks and MC303/RM1X etc, many of the other DJ’s Gary has worked alongside stated he was way ahead of himself before 1999 in terms of his ability not only to mix/scratch/tricks but also his attitude to creating a good vibe within the clubs he was both a guest and a resident at.
