I miss her...
Official Bio-
What started out as a side project metamorph inself into a full-blown one. Ams Levye decides to dissolve his own sludge-punk band to concentrate fully with DECENT AFFECT after discovering that Joe Hans was already writing songs at a rapid-fire rate. Furthermore, Ams described his own compositions as too stereotype and besides, drummer Mel had already wade into the extreme music scene jamming with his old comrades playing death metal. Levye felt that it wouldn't be proper to hold him back.
The first two songs, entitled 'MY PET RABBIT' (an insrumental anti-animal abuse anthem) & 'DREAMS' was ripped upon in Ams Levye's bedroom. (the two of them share credits) Ams Levye who originally played guitar for his previous band decides to give the kit a shot. Pip join in on bass guitar to complete the 3-piece lineup.
Birth of the Band falls on 1st Jan 2003 & the first two songs that Joe had written was called 'THIS TIME AROUND' & 'LAST GOODBYE'. As each month passed more songs were written. One of them was the haunting, soft-spoken stoner anthem 'ANOTHER DAY' a.k.a 'THE WIND SONG'. Pip was enthralled that they were playing real songs instead and not just covers. Joe Hans is the main songwriter of the band writing abt 90% of the materials while Ams Levye contributed abt the other 10. He is also the main singer & has a great voice, overpowering the music sometimes. (DREAMS, for eg.)
The band's name was also chosen by him. Previously the band was called 'SNIFFIN' SQUIRRELS' by some (though this was never officiated) which send Pip up in crackles. Ams Levye described it as "duff". The band is currently working on more material, playing & writing more songs than ever. The band entered the studio in October 2005 to record their first ever promo 'Dreams' & also promised to record more songs in the upcoming months. Although they has yet to reached our shores, this has prevented them from playing live & touring. - Jennifer E. Conner
PLS TAKE NOTE:
Decent Affect is still looking for the final member of the band on guitar to complete the line-up. If our influences truly is the same as you, kindly message us if you're sincere.
Decent Affect will neither record an album or go on tour until 2010. Until then, the band will only look to perform a few shows next year & also to release a couple of demos.
Decent Affect will launch themselves full-time once all obligations & commitments in their current lifes has been fulfilled.
Thank you.
