Kevin was born with a love of music and, as a child, spent many hours enthralled by his parents’ collection of LP’s (that's vinyl for you young 'uns). At age 10 when he picked up a friend’s guitar and started to explore its sounds, a lifelong connection was made.
He grew up in South Carolina where his ears picked up the eclectic sounds of Southern Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, and Jazz Fusion. All these influences became a part of his own unique style. He played in local bands until shortly after graduating from high school – when he (and his band) moved to Southern California. Since then, Kevin has performed and recorded continuously with various original artists and cover bands in LA, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.
Having been primarily a self-taught player, Kevin decided to pursue a more formal musical education at the LA Music Academy in 2006. There he studied harmony/theory, sight-reading, composition, solfege, and all styles of guitar with the likes of Frank Gambale, Jeff Richman, and Brad Rabuchin (guitarist for Ray Charles). Kevin graduated with special recognition as a music tutor.
A true “gear houndâ€, Kevin is an expert in MIDI switched effects systems and has a knack for getting the very best tone out of any amp or rig. Blessed with a very accurate ear, he can quickly dial in an authentic guitar sound to fit nearly any style or period of modern music.
Kevin now resides in Corona, California and works as a professional guitarist, vocalist and bassist in addition to teaching music and consulting as a software engineer.
