About Me

Joe was born on May 8 in Vienna, Austria. The trained computer scientist and Dive Pro embarked upon his musical career at the age of 27 after a vacation in Greece where he had agreed, on a whim, to play a set with Robert Rehak (MosquitoFactory) in the live music location, Casablanca. The episode sparked a passion for bass playing. Now followed countless well-received gigs in Austria and Germany with Robert Rehak and other musicians such as Michael Pobisch. The musician friends eventually founded a band they named Lusthaus. Thereafter followed a time of learning in which Joe enjoyed the pleasure of studying the bass guitar under GB & Australian based Alexander Slavik. Joe is featured in studio recordings with Gregor “Saiko” Nezval for the bands MosquitoFactory and Hidden Nation Crew and instrumental playback recordings for a widely known singing contest hosted by the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Company). Encouraged and invigorated by these achievements, the threesome Joe Dietrichstein, Robert Rehak and Michael Pobisch founded the band “Elvis in Blues”, featuring, for a time, Wolfgang Seligo on the keys. In early 2004, Joe left “Elvis in Blues” in order to move on to new challenges. As a gift for his 35th birthday, Joe was given the opportunity to pick the mind of Willi Langer (Count Basic, Kruder&Dorfmeister, Tina Turner, and many more) in an exclusive one-on-one setting, collecting invaluable pieces of advice from the ingenious bass player in the process. Joe has been playing bass for patchwork.fm since June 2004. Lately Joe was also seen on Stage with KONSORTEN TM for their Showcase-Gig during the X-Box Eperience 2006 in Vienna.
