About Me

One man who's out to wash the brains of the world.
Join the artist formerly known as MINKUS, in his crusade to free the hearts and minds of all mankind.
The Dead Snake Project began in the late twentieth century. The singer/songwriter, known in the streets of South Bend, Indiana, only as Minkus, hit the scene setting it ablaze with his Friday night, open jam frenzies. Tributes to Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, along with the occasional Alice Cooper and Nirvana cover filled the air of the local tavern/coffee house every weekend. But amazingly what turned the heads of the eye twitching, caffeine infested younglings was the sound of Minkus' original acoustic jams. The drunks stared on in amazement as he preached to the crowd through song about judgment day, the mark of beast and changing the way one perceives what they are taught by the outside world.
In time, a Grungy, Bluesy, Funk trio was formed and was not named until the night of their first gig. On that night, twenty minutes before they went on, Dead Snake was born.
Between then and now, the faces have changed but the music's the same. During the years 2001 to 2004, the band became known as Minkus. New Seattle drummer, Smeagol Miller, decided to hit the skins for awhile. You can hear him work his magic on the song "Born". Minkus liked to refer to Smeagol as, "Mr. Anderson" or "The One". The one who would beat perfection into the sound of the band. But alas, one pill lead to another and, well, you know.
So now, after taking a couple of years off to get his mind right and raise his family, here he is. Not just a man, not just a band, but a spiritual awakening!
The project known as Dead Snake is alive again. May the force be with you all.
