Beauty is in the eye of the bead holder

About Me

I'm the person behind The Beadle .
I've decided to use the blog here as a place to be honest and try to start a conversation with others on various subjects. I'm trying to get my business off the ground and I'm looking for potential customers and cheerleaders to get me along.
Why The Beadle: I love beads so much and collect them like crazy. I had a hard time committing most of them to any one piece of jewelry, so figured out an impermanent way to wear them on a necklace so I can change them out whenever I feel like it. So now, in the mornings I go to my bead box and choose what I'm wearing for the day, depending on how I feel (sometimes girly and flowery, but sometimes skulls and spikes.)

My Interests

Beads of any kind (that are sustainable!):
glass- lampwork, pressed, slumped, cast, fire polished, cane beads
wood- natural, bamboo, hardwood
metals- silver, steel, pewter, sculpted, Bali style, molded, enamel
clay- porcelain, ceramic, raku, polymer
fabric beads- felted balls
found items- shells, stones, beach findings, anything you can put a hole through!

I'd like to meet:

Bead lovers, bead makers, bead collectors, small business people with stories to tell, people who work from home
I'm looking for people who want to trade or be featured on my web site, www.thebeadle.com

Change up midstroke

Ugh.  So I finally decided this morning to remove the retail section from my site.  I should have never had it up in the first place, if I wasn't actively promoting it.  It's costing me...

Putting it out there to the universe...

Until the last year or so, if you had told me I should take my wants and desires and "put them out there to the universe" I would have barfed.  It always sounded like a bunch of weirdo crystal ru...

GOALS for this business

Ok, I have to name some goals for myself and maybe if I don't keep them a secret, I'll be forced to keep myself in check.-  Give a fair amount of time and energy to The Beadle so that I can actua...

Getting with it....

I'm thinking about using this blog to be brutally honest about my business and experiences so far.  My previous, unrelated business experiences were so much about presenting myself like what I ha...
