BIOGRAPHIES:
THE CAMODES: Originated as a songwriting partnership circa 1985 between Mad Lawrence & Istvanski with occasional contributions by Mark Dunn & Neil Patiel who all attended and dossed in Kingston College, Surrey, UK. Mad Lawrence contributed lyrically and Istvanski sorted out the music (using a Casio MT-46 and precious little else). Most of these early songs (eg; H.S.P, Today's Headlines, The Pyromaniac and Exile Express) can be heard on the 2002 release of the "Wot U Lookin' At?" album (CD DEP 2A). Before, during and after the recording of this album, Istvanski experimented with a different line-up for "Digging Out The Peanuts" (CD DEP 3A) which was recorded entirely on location at Ruxley Studios in Epsom. Co-Produced and Engineered by the Jif Dump Alliance, it featured performances by Istvanski, Martin Crane, Stuart Martin, Austin 'Stac' Coll, Mick O'Rourke and the JDA. To date, no live gigs have ever been done, mainly due to shiftwork and an unstable roster of musicians.
THE SCORSESES: Squire Maguire met Brad Du Maurier on a Brooklyn street corner in 1999 whilst holding up a local convenience store. Brad told Squire to "Put the motherfuckin' gun down, come with me and I'll show you how to make real easy money". Some years later, during a local 'tribute' collection of monies from a local club and mob hang out called The Ipanema Enema, Squire and Brad met up with Paulie 'Boom-Boom' Junior and Vito Spaghetti (whose uncle was part owner / investor in recording facilities located in New York and Las Vegas). It was only until the early fall of 2003 during a regular poker game that the boys decided to form a band as they were all musicians of certain competence. However, it was found that they needed a keyboardist to complement their late 60's psychadelic garage sound. In walked Istvanski to Tony's Barber shop in the Bronx (another Scorseses hang-out) asking the way to the Bronx Zoo. Istvanski wasn't seen again for another week, or not until, that is, the tracking had been done for the eventual release of the "Spin On This" (CD DEP 2EP) EP. A total of 4 songs were recorded, the last being a song called "You Lived A Lie" which afterwards descended into studio anarchy and vicious argument due to Brad telling Squire and Paulie that they were "nuttin' but degenerate fux" which was a response to a claim by the latter members that Brad "raps because he can't sing". Six months later, Squire and Paulie were found frozen to death and hung up on meathooks in a refrigerator by a local meat vendor from New Jersey. Recently in September 2006, Brad Du Maurier was rumoured to have fled New York to a safe house in Croydon after a recent spat with Vito's uncle in Las Vegas, thus ensuring an unfortunate end for a band so average.
THE SATANIC NURSES: Having origins in Tooting and Neasden, Norbert J Hetherington, Parsley and Istvanski decided to form a 'chaos spunk punk' band for the general fun of it. A small selection of original songs were quickly cobbled together for their first gig at The William Morris club, Sarf Wimbledon on the 20th April 1988 supported by The Adventures of Parsley in front of an audience numbering 'around six or seven'. A second gig at the same place had an improved turn-up, this time involving the actual band themselves. Scatalogical gig appearances at colleges, community centres and illegal festivals in and around the London area proved pointless but a lot of fun. The Satanic Nurses eventually ventured into John DeBrett's Studio in Norf London to record three songs ("Trans Romanian Railway", "The Ayatollah Song" and "Welcome To Debenhams"). Along with an early demo of "High Class Hooker" recorded by Stuart Martin at the Rathole in Woolwich, these songs were released as an EP ("Welcome To Debenhams" CD DEP 2EP). Regular gigging appearances suffered due to Istvanski 'not being arsed to sort the band out' and they eventually faded from a popularity they never had in the first place.
