An artist raised in two cities makes for a unique, widely accepted and versatile sound. That aspect is what makes PC da "Bossman" Southboy (Michael Lymon, Jr.) stand out in this incredible industry. At the age of 19, he has already recorded five to ten mix tapes in both Memphis and Chicago and still has more album material that is ready to go. Another role he possesses is CEO of Drama Cliq Entertainment turned Southwest Army Entertainment, an organization that began in Memphis, TN. Now signed to the label Never Kneel Down Records, PC is a very competitive, talented young star. His style of Rap and Hip-Hop have a Chicago and Memphis flavor because he spent equal time in both cities. DJ Showtyme, who hosted the “Go Hard or Go Home†Vol. One mix tape, released March 1, 2007 says, "his hunger will make him successful.†The buzz for that mix tape’s duo, GMB a.k.a Get Money Boys, which consisted of PC da "Bossman" Southboy & Young Blaze "The 16 Bar Star," was huge in the streets of Chicago. The duo made appearances on many DJ’s mix tapes including Showtyme, Stew, Rock, etc. The two men first met in college at the College of Dupage in Illinois. They started with free styling at apartments and at little get-togethers and both started to get to know each other’s swagger, lyrics and personalities. Their music is what made them friends. The duo’s first mix tape, "Go Hard or Go Home" Vol 1, featured a guest appearance by VI. That was GMB’s only project because the label decided to push PC as a solo artist and "young bossâ€, so that he could reach his true potential. Never Kneel Down Records has given PC the freedom to grow and create. So much so that he now has his own record label, Southwest Army Entertainment, a division of Never Kneel down. With two recording artist signed to his name, Baby G and Young Problem, it’s amazing that PC still had the drive to record and drop his hit single "Circle Bone." That song opened the door to the performance scene for PC. Stretch One, UIC college internet radio host/club promoter said after seeing PC perform songs from Half Man, Half Amazing Vol. One, "He puts on a great show, which is what most rappers lack." Half Man, Half Amazing was dropped last month and his VOL.2 is scheduled to be released in August. Most recently PC performed at venues such as Tamazula in West Chicago, Good Times in Elmhurst and Club 200 located west of Chicago - maxing out each of the facility’s capacity at every show. Furthermore, he had the opportunity to open for Sound Master T and Jah Rista at club Tamazula and based solely on the performance he gave, they quickly asked him to be an addition to their national tour. On top of that he has been interviewed by UIC radio and Heated Magazine. The latest single, Bouncin’ & Leanin’ (Geeked Up) has officially made it on Digiwaxx.com and that has led to the acceptance of his music on clearchannelmusic.com and exclusivesgroves.com. With those kinds of names on a resume it is not surprising that PC has already received a tour invitation from DJ Sherry of Black Planet Radio in Germany in October, which he has gladly accepted. Violator Juke Squad DJs and Full Impact DJs World Wide have been big supporters of PC’s music and so as promotion at the Chicago Annual Back to School Bud Biliken Parade they featured his latest single on their CD and passed out 10,000 to adoring fans. Currently, his single is played on 104.1 a radio station in St. Louis, MO, UIC college radio station, and its on full rotation on www.simplyradio.com which is an internet based radio station on Itunes that gets over 400,000 listeners a month. PC has done commercial drops for all types of companies and DJs worldwide, including companies Zimbabwe. As a CEO and Recording Artist, PC, in his own words, “plans to drop mix tape after mix tape monthly, kill show after show, and give the game what its missing. I’m going to keep hustling, grinding and going each and everyday in every aspect of the business and just basically let the music speak for itself.†The way he can merge two strong styles of music from two distinctly different cities is truly inspiring and makes him the most desirable artist in the industry today.
