Born Vasita Caine, here is The First Lady of Sound Domain Studio, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
She obtained the alias "The First Lady" after participating in some random singing competition, and free style battles in High School. Other opponents and members of the audience openly admitted that I was the "first Lady" they'd ever heard battled so aggressively and with such unique combinations of lyrics.
After graduating from College, First Lady made some minor appearances at few local shows and her presence was always greeted with a high level of appreciation, Standing ovations and even calls for encores. It was then in early May 2006 that the link with producer Kamall Archibald of Sound Domain Studio, who had heard about the buzz via word of mouth and endeavoured to see if what he heard was true and so began the professional life of The First Lady.
The first song was entitled "Take Your Time" a dancehall reggae, done on the "10CENTS RIDDIM (a compilation of various Vincentian artiste) and the second entitled "Handle me" which was recorded for the Carnival Festivities in early June 2006.
The First Lady loves music; it is more than just a conglomeration of words on a rhythmic pattern to her. It's an expression and illustration of talent, emotions and even intelligence. It is like my heartbeat.
Being influenced early by the musical styling of "Beenie Man", she likes to be very experimental with lyrics and also enjoy writing different genres of music for example "R and B" and Reggae as Beenie Man does. I think he's the most prolific artist in the world.
In the future, one can expect nothing else but the unexpected, prepare to be surprised and impressed at what The First Lady has to offer.
