Band Members: 1975 JAHVIN born of Jamaican descent, came to the United States when his family moved to Philadelphia at the age of fourteen. His first band "THE ROCKING ROCKSTONE" is where he put into action
his skills of being self taught as the rhythm guitarist. This band soon became Philly's ..1
reggae band, backing such international reggae artists as Alton Ellis,
Big Youth, The Mighty Diamonds, Delroy Wilson, Vic Taylor, John Holt, Leroy Sibbles of the Heptones, Audley Rollins, Roman Stewart.
The ..1 reggae band in Philly, known as the Rockstones were the opening act for Byron Lee and the Dragoneers. Rockstones released a few singles, and Jahvin himself recorded with the Meditations at Bulwacky's Studio in the Bronx, NY.In 1981 Jahvin moved to California and joined "I-DREN", a six piece reggae band, in which he filled the void of bass player. Jahvin was then nicknamed Bassie because of his well known prowess on the bass guitar. After a few months of rehearsing together, I-dren was well on it's way to becoming L.A.'s hottest reggae band, where all members sang lead and background as well as play their own instruments. The band recorded an album and toured many cities on the west coast as well as being backing band for Hugh Mundell, Johnny Osbourne, Eek A Mouse, Ras Michael, Sammy Dread, Earl
Sixteen, Little John, Robert French, Don Carlos, Garth Dennis of the Wailing Souls, Sanchez, George Nooks, Admiral Bailey, Brigadier Jerry, Jose Wales, Tinga Stewart, Phillip Fraser, Simple Simon, Shinehead, Lloyd Hemmings and also the opening act for "Third World".In 1986 Jahvin started his solo career as singer/songwriter/producer and freelance bass player.
He has performed alongside some of the biggest names in reggae music and brings his original
style, contemporary rhythms and powerful voice to live performances and studio recordings.The year 2000 with the dawning of the millenium came the birth of TEMPO PRODUCTIONS.
As the founder Jahvin, musician/songwriter/arranger/producer became an independent label
to promote new talent. From his extensive catalog came the first cd albums, currently on the air,
in record stores and generating sales. Jahvin's current single "Closer to Jah" has sold over 20,000
copies independently and touched the lives of many who have taken in the lyrical context. It is
