The history of the band Marty DeLay & The Fields Of Fum goes back to 2001 when Marty was looking for a band who's goal was to play a more melodic form of metal. At the time, Marty was playing with the band Corruption. The bandmembers in Corruption was Marty: Guitars, Patrik: Bass and Eddie on drums. Corruption split-up in year of 2001 soon after they have had their first two live performances. The band Marty now started after Corruption was called "Mace" They recorded 2 songs with Marty doing all of the instruments and programming of the drums. His girlfriend took care of the vocal duties. They recorded "Oblivion" and "Halloween" on a 3-track recorder during the summer of 2002. Mace never released this demo officially. Nothing really happened until the summer of 2005 when they decided to record 4 songs at Los Angered Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. Marty hired a drummer named Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen on the demo because of the fact that they did not yet have a drummer. The recording went great and they got everything on tape. Meanwhile, Marty and his girlfriend was involved in a relationship-struggle and the band band did disband during this period. It would take until september 2005 before Marty's music was up here on myspace and released for the world. Marty took help from some friends, Patrik (bassist and singer in Corruption) and Jenny (his cousin) to record some parts in the songs which he felt could sound good, during this time the band changed it's name to what it is called today, Marty DeLay & The Fields Of Fum. Patrik was left to record vocals on the song "Eternity" and Jenny to record some flute arrangements for the song "Ms. Sofie". The song Ms. Sofie was never recorded when the band (then called Mace) was in Gothenburg. All of the vocals, Ms. Sofie and the flute-parts was recorded in Marty's studio called D.V. Studios in asarum, Sweden. The road goes on and the two songs left from the recording at Los Angered Recording still await their final vocal duties. Right now Marty's hard at work finishing up the rest of his 6 songs. There is much to come. Look forward to them!";
