LIVE IN DE ARCHIDUC IN BRUSSEL MET BLUEBERRY'S BOOTS
Born in Ghent, Belgium, 15-10-1981. When I was six, my parents put a violin in my hands. Many years of happiness followed.
But puberty struck at the age of thirteen, and I didn't consider it 'cool' anymore to play classical music. Together with Matthias Schellens I started playing other stuff, mainly swing, Elvis and latin in our own very special way. Because music demands too much of a man, I started studying Germanic languages at the university of Ghent. In the meanwhile I had started the band ''Skip'. Oldies and a lot of theatre. Entertainment pur sang.
After finishing university I didn't want to start working. Conservatory in Arnhem was the ideal apology for not working. From Michael 'the guru of jazz violin' Gustorff I learned a lot. At the conservatory a lot of bands came in to existence and died again, like 'Tom en zijn Makkers', 'Muzikclub Donau', 'Breaking News'... the bands that survived are jazz quartet"Rio Bravo", string quartet "Kaas Verdomme!" and song machine "Blueberry's Boots".
Besides playing I arrange a bit, and look into the lives of the great and the small.
