Bill Moyers, Hugh Hefner, & John Cusak. As for "real people" I dig those who are crafty & creative, funny and slightly jaded. Scooter people. Those who are more into personal integrity than consumerism.
I forgot to mention that humor is *very* important. True, clever and slightly subversive humor scores with me. I would probably marry Dom Deluise because he's so darn funny. My friends must make me laugh or else I get distracted by hummingbirds and cracks in the floor.
The Smiths; U2; The Pixies; Dandy Warhols; 4AD like Dead Can Dance & Cocteau Twins; Jamaican ska; Jonathan Richman; Weezer; 80's alternative; dark & moody stuff; Toledo's "Tattooed Mermaid," goofy 50's & 60's music like Bill Deal & the Rondells, Freddie the Dreamers, Connie Francis & Leslie Gore; Merseybeat; twangy rockabilly and pre-70s country; swing music & dancing; Kaiser Chiefs; 60's guitar instrumentals; Surf Noir like the Blue Hawaiians; Tom Waits; The Chameleons; Radiohead; the disco of Giorgio Moroder; the upbeat sunshine of the 88 and Dressy Bessy. Can you say "across the board"?
Gilda, The Usual Suspects, Sixteen Candles, Animal House, Baraka, The Thin Red Line, How to Murder Your Wife or anything with Jack Lemmon. John Cusak movies. I'd marry him if only he'd ask. Missed my chance with Jack Lemmon. =dang=

"If on a Winter's Night a Traveler," Kurt Vonnegut, "Picture of Dorian Gray," "On the Road", Roald Dahl is incredible! I read each night before bed in hopes it will stave off early alzheimers, or at least keep my spelling in tact.
Bill Moyers, Bea Arthur, Rita Heyworth, Jonathan Richman.
