Atomos is a brutal/death metal band formed in Jordan back in 2005 and started out as "Deathraw" by Rami Mattar (Vocals), Nizar Saqqar (Bass), Mohammed Hejjawi (Guitars) and Ahmed Kloob (Drums). The band started out playing in most gigs taking place in the country and quickly gained popularity through a combination of extreme originals and some very well executed covers of popular metal songs such as music by Sepultura, Amon Amarth, Death, Bolt Thrower, Six Feet Under and more.
In 2006, Anas (a.k.a Chriss) joined the band on Guitars to form one of the local scene's most powerful combination on the axes upfront alongside Mohammed Hejjawi and Nizar Saqqar. The band decided to change it's name from Deathraw to Atomos in 2006 as the members didn't want to go by a name used by another band before. The word Atomos means "Can not be divided" in reference to the band members being long time friends.
As Atomos, the band continued its aggressive performances led by the deathly growls of the vocalist Rami Mattar.
During late 2006, Drummer Ahmed Kloub had to leave the band for personal reasons. The band has been using Drum Machines and Guest Drummers in their practise sessions and gigs since then but still never disappoints and always gives its all and puts on a great show for the metal thirsty loyal fans.
