TERRENCE CRUEL AKA: Cruel TBiographyA native of New Jersey, Terrence Cruel aka “Cruel T” has a natural affinity for music. He began in the 6th grade dabbling in rap music with a local well-known group called Young MC’s. He started out in the group as a background beat boxer, but on the contrary, had a burning desire to pursue a music career as a solo rap artist.The group performed with many local and highly acclaimed national recording artists such as Public Enemy and XX Posse to name a few. The event that would give birth to a new revolutionized solo “MC” was the Battle of the Bands. The group competed against thirty-three groups and won 1st place. However, because of the age restrictions they were not able to receive the recording contract award. It was then that Cruel T emerged dramatically as a solo rap artist.From battling on the street corners, to appearing on shows with artist such as Rakim, MC Shan, and Biz Markie, Cruel T worked his way up to have a well-known reputation as a hardcore rapper in the underground of New Jersey. His style deals with the good, bad, nasty, and the ugly. His music reflects a real familiarity. Yet it is broad, full-bodied, and textured which he has his own original style and technique.He was inspired by many hi p-hop legends, his lyrical flow sounds like Tupac and Scarface. His music speaks for itself with current tracks “Nasty Man”, “Fam 4 Life” and “Keep it on the Low” He is ready to shock and awe the hearts of hip-hop listeners and leave them asking “Who is He?”Cruel T enjoys writing, producing, and performing because it gives him a chance to experiment, improvise, and deviate. It also allows him to really connect with his audience about the reality of the streets.
