Founded in the mid 90’s under the entity Prophet Entertainment by Nick Scarfo, DJ Paul, and Juicy J, from the Oscar winning group Three Six Mafia, Prophet Entertainment paved the way for the underground rap scene in Memphis. While selling over 200,000 units across the country without radio play, Prophet Posse, the lyrical geniuses captured the world and created a sound that is uniquely known as Memphis crunk. While signing several rappers under its label such as Lord Infamous, K Rock, Gangsta Boo, Indo G, and Crunchy Black, these true Memphis hustlers tackled the game of rap and placed Memphis on the map as a bedrock for witnessing some true Southern lyricism with messages of “real talk”.
