About Me

It's taken a while but the album is now complete and includes re-workings of old favouries such as Sadness and California, as well as new tracks, some of which are featured.
The Album is available to buy NOW from www.UglyNephew.com and from AMAZON
It will also be available on Itunes and from all good record shops following official release over the next few months

The collection of material has been crafted into a long player by Mohanski and Chris Catchpole (AKA CJ66). The tracks were recorded over the last two years and have been lovingly re-mixed and mastered.
All artwork comes from our man Chris Hilton at Design Friendship.
Many thanks to Chris and Chris as without them the album wouldn't exist. Please check CJ66 and Ugly Nephew Records in our top friends.
'Hotdog Chihuahua' sounds like nothing currently about in the record world.......In truth perhaps the best thing we've heard since Hot Chip's debut 'Mexico' EP via Victory Gardens all those years ago...." - Losing Today
"........the perfect music for a setting sun a on warm night - 5 Stars." www.music-news.com
"Imagine The Doors meet The Beach Boys, mixed up with your favorite jam band, Brit-pop-icize it (think Beta Band - try Airwolf below if you don't believe me), and then plug them in with some electronic exclamations snuck in between. It's completely an album to kick back with and contemplate the atomic weight of air." - mainstreamisn'tsobad blog
"....combining Beck's slacker ethos with banjos, trippy FX and abstract beats, they conjour up a world where Phil Spector goes to the B-movies....Enjoyably hard to pin down..." - Teletex Entertainment Planet Sound
".... a pretty smart album.....‘Mash It Up’ is gorgeously sleepy, ‘Back Home’ is a sweet porch-country number and ‘I’ve Been Considered’ might have been briefly considered for inclusion on the Betas’ ‘Champion Versions’ EP, which is of course incredibly high praise." - New Noise.Net
"If I had to pull a single it would be "The Killer", a molasses dark and slow number that suggests the Frank Zappa of "The Torture Never Stops" while never getting that ugly. Shame they say "fuck" more than is advisable for airplay...." - Parental Advisory Blog
"....an unlikely sounding combo that manage to combine the sounds Amnesiac Radiohead with Arthur Lee's Love." - Pointy Records
"When I hear a band like Mohanski it almost makes me want to get back into radio so I can play them on the air and rave about how much I love their music. Mohanski have a unique sound that honors a wide swath of influences. Their songs are pretty, haunting, cerebral, clever, rhythmic, non-danceable and danceable." www.deaconlight.com/mohanski.
"Mohanski remind me of the qualities I used to love about Blur and Radiohead... but more consistently. They are releasing a little 7 inch sometime in the next few months, and I definitely plan on getting one. So shouldyou." www.whoneedsradio.com
"If The Stone Roses had a child with Gomez, and then said child was adopted for two years by Massive Attack and Zero 7, and then returned to the land of Ian Brown post Stone Roses as a teenager - the fully functional adult before you would be Mohanski" - Aoife Mc of The Indie
"Mohanski really had a buzz about them. Lovely people and top musicians. They are the rare breed that arent desperately looking for a deal but a label like Rough Trade should check these out..." - The Tube Club
"Atmospheric Hackney four-piece whose lo-fi ballads employ harmonica, melodica, xylophone, Casiotone and have been compared to Blur, Radiohead, Stone Roses, Portishead and Hot Chip." - Time Out recommended gig
"Unlikely but engaging blend of Love, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Beck and 'Amnesiac'-era radiohead from the headlining London quartet" - Time Out
" Wonderfully different pop music.......Like the Super Furries but never moving out of 1st gear" - Shut Up & Sshshh"
"Grooving harmony laden popsters" - What's On
"...a strange-and-beautiful London Band. Their mixture of Lo-Fi, Folk, Swing, Indie-Pop and R' n B is quite something. Best listen for yourself!" - Music of the Moment Blogspot
"This is a truly lovely sounding song, the guitars tie in well with the sweet vocal harmonies and the drums hold it all together very well with an unusual trip-hop kind of beat. This is the kind of song you could imagine being used to soundtrack a Magners advert. It is just the right length also, coming under the wondorous three-minute-pop-song category. Very impressive.
Reminds me of: Beach Boys, The Egg
Score: 8/10
In a sentence: Very relaxing"
